Accolades aren't everything, but they can sure give one a boost on a tiring day. And they celebrate everything — and everyone — it takes to create a successful project.
Here are some awards that I was thrilled to share with many talented people.
Silver Lion (Design) – The 64th International Festival of Creativity, Cannes
As content director (contract) at Sid Lee, Toronto, in 2016, one of the most exciting projects I was privileged to work on was the rebranding of Fuel Transport. It was a small team that pulled off the gorgeous new logo, website, collateral and content plan, and I'm so happy for those who gave this great Quebec company a look and voice befitting its innovation and integrity. Among the unmentioned on the credits (myself included), is the brilliant Liz Haq, whose passion for this project was integral to its success. Fuel claimed the No. 6 spot out of 99 brands in Strategy's 2017 Creative Report Card. Way to go, all!
Bronze (Integrated Retail) — Canadian Marketing Association
Since 2010, I've worked with the LCBO on dozens of print and digital projects. Perhaps the most chic was that year's Classic Cocktails promotion, which resulted in an all-the-rage Mad Men-esque booklet and in-store promotion. It was a blast working with content lead Tricia Gadsden on this project, designed by Blammo Worldwide (now Arrivals + Departures).
Content Marketing Awards, Content Marketing Institute
Over the past many years, I've been humbled to have been recognized by this organization, which recognizes excellence in all aspects of content creation. I've received nods for my work on P&G Beauty USA's Rouge project (print and digital), including Honourable Mention for Best Regularly Featured Column and Honourable Mention for Best Coverlines
Canadian National Magazine Awards
During the portion of my career when I was a consumer magazine editor, I received several awards from my peers. They included Honourable Mentions for Editorial Package, Sports & Recreation and Humour Writing and two Silver Awards for Editorial Package and Sports & Recreation.
